Two WMST students earn National Cherry Blossom Art Contest awards

Tashida Thompson and Robert Gardner, two Washington Math Science Technology (WMST) Public Charter High School students, earned National Cherry Blossom Art Contest awards recently.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival took place from March 27 to April 11 in Washington. In addition to celebrating springtime, the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the enduring friendship between the people of the United States and Japan that the tree gift symbolized, when Japan gave them to the U.S. in 1912.

“Tashida and Robert are two great kids,” said James Murray, WMST's instructional art/media teacher. “They love art and their school and are adored by their classmates and teachers.”
