Career Day Speakers Sought for November 19 Event
WMST Public Charter High School has set its annual Career Day for November 19 at the school, located at 1920 Bladensburg Road, NE in Washington, D.C.
Parents and friends of the school interested in making classroom presentations to WMST students should contact Enrique R. Watson, Sr., director of student services at WMST at via email or 202-636-8011. The school is particularly interested in potential speakers who work in careers that involve Mathematics, Science and Technology, given its curriculum focus.
“I think it's a testimony to this community that so many people are willing to give from their precious time to serve as speakers,” Mr. Watson said. “This will be a good opportunity for students to interact with speakers representing different careers.”
Many of the presentations will be 15-20 minutes long, and there will be two or three speaking opportunitties at the morning event for most speakers. Many of the classes have 20-25 students.
Founded in 1998, WMST PCHS is a free public school open to District of Columbia residents with nearly 400 students enrolled in grades 9 through 12.
